Guigang (a city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) Women's Federation in recent years has guided women's federations in "three new" sectors to improve their abilities to lead, organize and serve women. The "three new" sectors refer to new types of economic and social organizations and groups in new forms of employment.
The federations have cultivated teams of women lecturers and selected outstanding women, from the "three new" sectors, to be role models. Lectures have been held to share women role models' achievements in promoting high-quality development, and in fostering stronger family ties, values and traditions.
Guigang Women's Federation has organized 81 public classes focusing on rural revitalization and self-improvement of women. Combined, 24,000 women have participated in the classes.
To provide rest spaces for women working in the "three new" sectors, such as couriers and migrant workers, the federation has established eight special service stations and 12 service sites in key areas of Guigang. Women can read at the sites, and they can receive free drinks and personal hygiene products.
The federation has signed cooperation agreements with three financial institutions to provide special, financial support to women entrepreneurs. It has also launched initiatives to help women, especially those coping with difficulties, find employment.
