Journalists from some Chinese media organizations, including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Women's News and Women of China English Monthly, visited a Mongolian horse-culture exhibition hall, in New Barag Left Banner, in Hulun Buir, a city in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on July 27.
The journalists listened to the "legendary stories" about the Iron Women, the team of women volunteers who contributed to the development of the pastoral area since the 1960s.
The new generation of Iron Women has inherited the fine conduct of the older generation. The current team has more than 200 members, and its services include promoting laws, policies, ethnic unity and good family traditions, and helping in-need people solve their problems. Since 2019, the team has organized more than 100 visits and care-giving activities, and it has raised 450,000 yuan (US $66,176) for various assistance funds.
