The All-China Women's Federation and 15 central government agencies or organizations recently issued a notice on implementing the summer vacation, childcare-services campaign. To ensure children have a safe, meaningful vacation, women's federations, at all levels across the country, have conducted various activities.
Tai'an (a city in East China's Shandong Province) Women's Federation organized several activities in Xintai, a county-level city, on July 22. The federation donated red-culture-themed books to the children, and some volunteers led the children in reciting stories about revolutionary heroes.
Staff from Xintai's fire-control department talked to the children about preventing fires at home, and about how to avoid drowning. Some college students conducted scientific experiments, produced crafts and created paintings with children, especially those from families living in difficulties.
The Women's Federation of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture (in Southwest China's Sichuan Province) launched an initiative for serving in-need children in 29 townships and villages in seven counties on July 23.
During summer vacation, the Aba Family Education Promotion Society plans to organize 60 lectures focusing on the empowerment of parents and/or guardians. Volunteers from Aba Women Entrepreneurs Association intend to visit children, who have received paired-up assistance, in Zamtang, a county in Aba.
Beihai (a city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) Women's Federation, with relevant departments of the city's government, recently organized a law-popularization activity in Chixi, a village in Beihai. Children, and their parents, participated in question-and-answer quizzes, and listened to minor-related case analyses of legal workers.
