An activity, to promote the Beautiful Countryside, Clean Households Program, was held on July 3 in Songhua, a village in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, in Northeast China's Jilin Province.
China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) and Guangzhou Blue Moon Foundation launched the program in 2023.
Guangzhou Blue Moon Foundation donated funds and materials to CWDF, and representatives of the two foundations presented packages, containing detergent, to the families. Leaflets, with house cleaning tips, were also distributed.
Representatives of some of the families made proposals about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, livestock feeding, garbage sorting and family education.
Two experts gave lectures on women's healthcare and family sanitation and cleaning.
Since 2023, the program has been conducted in 153 villages in Guizhou, Guangdong, Gansu and other regions. The program has benefited more than 200,000 rural households. It has inspired rural women to participate in family health management and rural governance.
In 2026, the program will be conducted in 60 villages, in Jilin, Gansu and Qinghai provinces.
