A service network, composed of county-, township- and village-level women's federations in Dulan, a county in Northwest China's Qinghai Province, in recent years has ensured the federations' services are easily accessible by residents.
To date, 225 women's organizations have been established in Dulan. All presidents of village (community)-level women's federations are members of village Party (Communist Party of China) branches and/or villagers' committees.
Several years ago, Dulan Women's Federation helped Xu Yanqing, inheritor of a traditional Mongolian-costume-making technique, apply for small business startup loans. The federation has also encouraged women, who are good at embroidering, to join Xu's company. The company now employs more than 80 women, all from families living in difficulties.
To help women increase their incomes, Wuyunbailige, Vice-President of the Women's Federation of Tuotuo, a village in Dulan, has mobilized women to sell their embroideries and dairy products at the drivers' service site near the village. She has also organized monthly embroidery- and dairy-product-making skills training for area women.
To extend care to children, the federation in 2024 collected information about 28 children, from families living in difficulties, and recruited 40 volunteers, who have since provided paired-up assistance to the children. The volunteers have regularly visited the children, to help them with their homework, and to chat with them.
