 2025-08-07

'AI Explorers' Parent-Child Tech Camp

Haidian District Women's Federation of Beijing hosted the "AI Explorers: A Parent-Child Journey into Future Tech" event, at Weisheng Future Science Museum, in Beijing, in April 2025. The event attracted more than 160 people from 80 families. The camp featured AI autonomous driving, chip exploration, AI interaction and other activities. During the event, families used AI technology to create posters, and they learned about AI autonomous driving. The "Chip Corridor" showcased the chip manufacturing process, and it sparked children's scientific curiosity. The event helped parents cultivate a long-term outlook on family education, and explore new approaches to enhance family education through technology. The federation pledged to continue integrating resources to launch activities, to help families and children in the region.

Exploring AI-Driven Solutions for Mental Health

Staff from Shanghai Women's Federation inspected the Information Security and Intelligence Cognition Lab of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), in Shanghai, in March 2025, to study how to leverage AI to enhance mental health support and family education. During the visit, SJTU's lab showcased experimental AI applications in psychological-data analysis and behavioral-pattern recognition. Demonstrations highlighted AI's potential to provide personalized family education guidance, early warning systems for mental health risks, and improved human-robot-collaboration tools. Yu Jin, with Shanghai Women and Children Service Guidance Center, emphasized the need for tailored AI solutions. "AI has its unique strength. We need to study how to combine it with family education, and balance universality and personalization," Yu said. Li Ming, Vice-President of Shanghai Women's Federation, noted the federation has paid close attention to family education and mental health, and she underscored AI's role in the field. She suggested using AI technology and family-school-society cooperation to enhance early warning of and intervention in mental health risks.

Kuaishou Public Welfare Classroom Project Concludes in Tianjin

The "Kuaishou Public Welfare Igniting the Future Classroom" project, launched by the Beijing Women and Children Development Foundation, Kuaishou Public Welfare Foundation, and Tianjin Women and Children Development Foundation, concluded, in North China's Tianjin Municipality, in May 2025. Under the guidance of Tianjin Women's Federation, the project delivered more than 100 innovative lessons, to more than 1,200 students, across five schools in Tianjin, during the past three months. To foster children's all-round development, the project combined advanced teaching tools with a team of teachers in mental health, intangible-cultural-heritage crafting, AI, programming, robotics, and youth-science popularization. Courses ranged from psychological counseling and fun programming to basic robotics and computer science, all intended to ignite children's curiosity and joy of learning.

2025 AI Winter Camp

The "Happy Family 360" AI Winter Camp concluded in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin Province, in January 2025. The event was hosted by Changchun Women's Federation, and it was organized by Changchun Qinyuan Social Work Service Center. The event attracted 30 children, aged 7-12, from Changchun, and it offered them an interdisciplinary, multidimensional journey into AI learning and practices. The camp featured three themed courses: Creative Fine Arts and AI Creation, Science Experiments and AI Exploration, and AI Emotional Management and Psychological Growth. Through teamwork, interactive teaching, and hands-on experiments, the camp empowered the children to master AI applications and cultivate innovative thinking. Participants blended AI painting and traditional art to create personalized works, they used AI to analyze data and explore experiments in physics and chemistry, and they used AI emotion-recognition technology and sand-table interactive games to learn how to manage emotions and boost their self-confidence and social skills. The camp not only introduced cutting-edge technology to the children, but also highlighted the importance of AI education for families.
