The China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) held a public welfare roundtable dialogue titled "APEC Her Power for a Sustainable Future" on the sidelines of APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) Meeting in Incheon, the Republic of Korea (ROK), on August 11.
Supported by Ant Foundation, the roundtable dialogue drew the attendance of 80 Chinese and international guests from Tencent SSV Inclusive Health Lab, Beijing Kuaishou Technology Co., Ltd, Samsung (China) Semiconductor Co., Ltd, member economies of APEC, and United Nations agencies.
Secretary-General of the CWDF Dong Kui said that as a women-oriented public-welfare organization under the leadership of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), CWDF is committed to providing women with empowerment and supporting their sustainable development. The foundation has organized multiple flagship projects in alignment with the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Dong said to promote women's inclusive growth, CWDF has reinforced its efforts in capital and intellectual aids along with digital and intelligent empowerment, rolled out Raise Her Business Plan, Genius Moms and a number of tech-driven empowerment programs for women, helping numerous rural and business women as well women sci-tech talents gain new development momentum and strength, and vividly embodying the core value of La Serena Roadmap for Women and Inclusive Growth (2019-2030). Dong noted that CWDF will further expand its friendship circle, seek resource coordination with its business partners in terms of inclusive finance, digital empowerment, education and health and family support in order to build the Asia and Pacific region into an energetic and harmonious family via women-oriented public welfare.
Liu Anqi, special assistant to CSR President of Henderson (China) Land Development Corporation and founder of the SHERO Initiative, presided over the roundtable dialogue. She held in-depth and extensive discussions with Chinese and international guests over such topics as how to unleash women's potentials in the digital economy, promote the transformation of women-controlled SMEs into new economic development engines, and grasp a deep understanding of the importance of offering women equal education and health opportunities in the multi-cultural background.
Meanwhile, CWDF held a special exhibition on its projects, comprehensively showcasing fruitful practices made by the foundation and its partners in empowering women and the realization of the sustainable development goals.
