The "Family Support Action: Healthy Family Management Initiative" project for 2025 was launched by the China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) under the support of the China Family Education Society (CFES) and Shanghai Johnson&Johnson Pharmaceuticals Ltd., in Beijing on June 6.
The opening ceremony drew the attendance of more than 150 people including representatives of experts, cities involved in the project implementation and beneficiary families.
Since its establishment in 2023, the project has focused on common disease diagnosis and treatment, safe medication and oral health management for infants, strengthened health awareness and scientific parenting capacity building among the public, and organized various activities in 25 provinces and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Hunan with the participation of over 400,000 families.
Noting that families have played vital roles in safeguarding public health, Dong Kui, Vice-President and Secretary-General of the CWDF, said that the public welfare program was mainly designed to disseminate scientific concepts, promote the popularization of safe medication knowledge and reinforce lifestyle intervention measures in the implementation of the Healthy China Initiative. She added that CWDF will further strengthen its professional guidance, provide targeted services, and promote knowledge popularization to empower more families.
Representatives of project cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang received caring parcels and representatives of beneficiaries called on the public to observe healthy lifestyles. Pediatric experts responded to parents' questions about children's fever in a health class.
This year, the project will continue with its collaboration with health departments, the federations of trade unions, sub-district and community administration offices, underscore the important role of women in family health management, raise public awareness of common disease prevention and control as well as scientific management of regular medication, bolster public capabilities of family health management, and promote family harmony.
