Online Mediation Platform to Enhance Family, Marital Dispute Resolution

ByCao Yin 2025-12-03

China's judicial bodies, in collaboration with women's federations, have launched an innovative online mechanism aimed at resolving marital and family disputes at their root, providing better protection for women and children.

Jointly established by the Supreme People's Court and the All-China Women's Federation, the mechanism seeks to maintain equal, harmonious and civilized marital and family relationships, while contributing to a harmonious and stable social environment, the top court said in a statement on Tuesday.

Under this mechanism, marriage and family mediation institutes can join the SPC's mediation platform, offering online, offline, or a combination of both methods of mediation services, the statement noted.

These institutes can also apply for court confirmation of mediation agreements and prepare mediation documents through the platform, it said, emphasizing that implementing these measures will comprehensively enhance the quality and efficiency of mediation in marital and family disputes.

In addition, it clarified that the selection, management, training and guidance of these mediation organizations will be standardized, while consultation and information sharing between women's federations, mediation institutes and courts will be strengthened.

Moreover, courts and women's federations nationwide are required to regularly analyze their work and jointly publish notable mediation cases in marriage and family disputes, it said, adding that efforts also need to be increased to coordinate with financial departments to implement funding guarantee policies.
