CCTF Project to Protect Children's Eyesight Held in Baise, Guangxi

 2026-04-13

The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) held an activity, as part of its project to protect children's eyesight, in Baise, a city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on March 20. A donation ceremony was held at a local primary school, where 300 eye-care kits were distributed to students.

During the activity, a doctor delivered an engaging lecture on various topics, including the causes and harms of myopia, as well as the scientific methods used to correct myopia. The doctor also emphasized the importance of developing good eye-care habits, to protect vision.

Following the lecture, ophthalmologists conducted vision-health screenings for the students. Some of the students said, through the activity, they gained a deeper understanding of the importance of eye protection. They also pledged to practice healthy eye-care habits.

The project was launched in 2021 by CCTF, the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (in East China's Zhejiang Province) and several enterprises.

Under the project, various efforts have been made to help children and teenagers develop proper eye-care habits, reduce the incidence rate of myopia, and support children's healthy growth.

Efforts have included building science-education venues, organizing publicity campaigns and distributing eye-care kits.
