Women's federations, across the country, conducted a wave of themed activities in March to promote legal knowledge at the grassroots level. The federations innovated methods and provided targeted services to help protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, and to foster a more equal and harmonious social environment.
In Haikou (Hainan Province), Xiaoshan (Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province) and Dongxing (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), efforts were made to bring law-publicity activities to people's doorsteps, using interactive games and fun quizzes to spread knowledge on rule of law.
In Hebei, Jilin, Sandu (Guizhou Province) and Hebi (Henan Province), scenario plays integrated culture and legal awareness, to embed the spirit of the rule of law in people's hearts and minds. Women volunteers in Jiading (Shanghai Municipality) and Shangluo (Shaanxi Province) were mobilized to conduct law-publicity activities in communities, and to explain law articles in an easy-to-understand manner.
Collaboration between local women's federations, relevant government departments and other agencies, including courts and procuratorates, was promoted in various regions to create a synergy for rights protection.
Women's federations in Shanxi and Shenzhen (Guangdong Province) took the lead in creating efficient and accessible rights-protection platforms, to enable “one-stop resolution” of public appeals. Several typical cases, involving rights protection, were released by women's federations in Xinjiang, Jiangsu and Qingdao (Shandong Province) to provide guidance for women.
Women's federations not only conducted extensive legal awareness campaigns, but also provided targeted support to various groups. For example, Anhui and Yunnan offered assistance to women in difficult circumstances; Xizang, Qinghai and Ji'an (Jiangxi Province) developed dedicated service hubs for women in emerging sectors; and several regions guided parents in learning how to better fulfill their responsibilities.
A series of heartwarming, down-to-earth initiatives helped strengthen the public's awareness of the rule of law, across the country. Moving forward, under the guidance of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), local women's federations will continue to conduct grassroots law-publicity activities and promote legal awareness in a regular, targeted and diversified manner. They will continue to improve the rights-protection-service system, expand channels for rights protection and enhance service efficiency, to better protect women's and children's rights and interests.
