Building Bridges of Love and Weiqiao Hope Bathroom, projects launched in 2023 and 2024, respectively, by China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and Shiping Foundation, have benefited 18,600 students facing difficulties in 14 cities or prefectures in Southwest China's Yunnan Province. The foundations have donated a combined 19.2 million yuan (US $2.74 million) to the projects.
The projects have helped improve the facilities of rural schools, provided care to adolescent girls and supported women vocational school students.
Employees with the foundations recently visited schools in Yunnan, to see firsthand the effects of the two projects.
During the past three years, the Building Bridges of Love Project helped Mengdong Middle School, in Cangyuan Va Autonomous County, rebuild its walls and install new drainpipes. Such work has provided a safer environment for the students. The group donated 180,000 yuan (US $25,714) to support 100 students in the school.
While visiting Lincang Technician College, in Lincang, a city in Yunnan, the group donated 120,000 yuan (US $17,143) to 20 women students (6,000 yuan [US $857] each).
In 2025, the Building Bridges of Love Project also helped Wenhua Middle School, in Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County, replace old desks and chairs.
The project also provided 500 "caring packages to adolescent girls." Each package contained stationery, sanitary products and a handbook on adolescence.
