Zhang Gaiqin is consultant of the Gansu Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chinese Calligraphy Association, and Honorary Chairperson of the Calligraphy Association of Gansu Province.
Zhang is honored as an outstanding representative of the contemporary female calligraphers. She is a promoter of the calligraphy culturein Gansu Province and she has also been actively working onpoverty alleviation in the cultural field.
